Galatians 2:5-10

we should go unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision.

To whom we gave place by subjection, no, not for an hour; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you. But of these who seemed to be somewhat, (whatsoever they were, it maketh no matter to me: God accepteth no man's person:) for they who seemed to be somewhat in conference added nothing to me: But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter; (For he that wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, the same was mighty in me toward the Gentiles:) And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision.  Only they would that we should remember the poor; the same which I also was forward to do. (Galatians 2:5-10)

Then fourteen years after I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and took Titus with me also. After the Apostle Paul met Jesus in Damascus, he went to Arabia, then returned to Damascus, and went to Jerusalem to meet Peter three years later, and after 14 years he went to Jerusalem. It is the same event that appears in Acts 15. The reason why the apostles Paul and Barnabas went to Jerusalem in Acts 15 was about the law, the same problem as that of the Antioch Church.

In the Antioch Church, the Apostle Paul taught the Saints. Paul lived in his hometown of "daso" for 7 years. However, according to the counsel that Barnabas came to Paul and took over the church of Antioch, the Apostle Paul taught. But before the arrival of Paul, the Jews were speaking of the importance of the law there, causing great trouble. Most churches as well as the Antioch Church faced the same problem.

By teaching that the apostles Paul and Barnabas went to Antioch Church and said, "Not saved by the law, but saved by Christ," the believers in Antioch were in chaos. So, the Antioch Church sent Paul and Barnabas to the Church in Jerusalem to bring the answer to this problem. Of course, the Apostle Paul and Barnabas were very familiar with the matter, but they decided to follow the process. That is why Paul went up to Jerusalem in 14 years.

The apostles Paul and Barnabas met Peter, James, and John before the Jerusalem General Assembly. So, they told the story of the Antioch Church. This is And I went up by revelation, and communicated unto them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to them which were of reputation, lest by any means I should run, or had run, in vain. Them which were of reputations were Jesus' disciples, including Peter, James, and John.

As a result of their preliminary coordination, they recognized that there was no defect in the gospel preached by Paul and Barnabas, and held a consolidation of Jerusalem to confirm it. At the time, the Antioch Church had circumcised people according to the law, and they believed in Jesus Christ but had to be circumcised. The people of Antioch Church never knew the revelation of Christ. It was because the cover was covered in the heart and did not realize the secret hidden from the world.

In Hebrews 10:1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. The five sacrifices prescribed in the law are the shadows of Jesus Christ's death on the cross. If, through the sacrifice, they did not see Christ to come, they have never received revelation. Circumcision is likewise to find the promised seed (Christ) to come in the future through the ritual of cutting the body. Circumcision has two meanings. It is to discover Christ who will come in the future, and that the flesh must die with Christ. Thus, Christ was discovered through circumcision, and circumcision is unnecessary. However, still circumcising is waiting for Christ to come.

Even though Jesus Christ came into the world, waiting for Christ means not believing in the Christ who came. At the time, those who insisted on circumcision in the Antioch Church said they believed in Jesus Christ, but they also needed circumcision. Thus, those who insist on circumcision become those who do not understand the revelation of Christ. Even today there are many legalists in the church. The law is hidden in various systems and procedures. The Saints must find it and remove it as soon as possible. The saints are saved not by the law, but by dying on the cross with Jesus Christ.
